Antibody FAQs

Q: How do I place an order for antibodies?

A: Please fill out an order form. If preferred, you may also fill out an internal Purchase order instead of our order form. All order forms and purchase orders should either be submitted to sales@kimlaboratories.com or faxed to 1-866-363-7177. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. Be sure to include credit card information. If using a P.O. payments must be received within 30 days. Please include a contact person and their email address and phone number on the order form/purchase order.

Q: What are the prices of your antibodies and do you give discounts?

A: All prices are in US currency and are subject to change without notice. Please contact us to get discount pricing on large quantities.

Q: What is the delivery time?

A: For North America our items are usually delivered in 1-2 days. For international orders it can take 3-5 days, depending on the country.

Q: How do you ship your antibodies?

A: Although majority of our antibodies are stable at room temperature for long periods of time before showing any significant loss, we ship our antibodies on gel ice packs to extend their shelf life.

Q: What are the storage conditions for the antibodies?

A: Our antibodies should be stored at 4°C for short term storage or aliquoted and stored at -20°C for long term storage. We store them in ProClin300 (preservative from Sigma-cat. # 48912) in PBS (pH 7.4). We are unable to guarantee how the antibody will perform if not stored as stated above.

Q: Why are the antibodies stored in ProClin300 instead of sodium azide and/or glycerol?

A: The antimicrobial activity of ProClin300 is superior or similar to that of sodium azide (Supleco Bulletin 903). ProClin300 has fewer effects on other enzymes (such as HRP or AP) than sodium azide. We do not find it necessary to store our antibody with glycerol if the above guidelines are followed.
